- Why were CORESHORTS™ invented?
Sports Physiotherapist, Greg Bay created CORESHORTS™ as an alternative to the typical groin tensor wrap that was the industry standard for pelvic and groin support. “Groin wraps just didn’t work and they certainly were not well liked by the athletes”. CORESHORTS™ utilizes the Core Activation Technology – the “X” design elastic cross support to mimic human anatomy and provide a dynamic support during movement. They were created to provide a simple and more effective way to support the low back, pelvis and hip during movement. They were created to improve both the prevention and recovery of Core Injuries.
- What injuries can CORESHORTS™ help?
CORESHORTS™ will assist the rehabilitation of any core injury by improving stability, movement awareness and directional control. Specifically, therapists and clients report improvements with low back, lower abdominal (hernia/sports hernia) pelvic dysfunction (sacro-iliac joint, osteitis pubis), hip strain (groin, hip flexor, quadriceps, hamstring). They will also improve stability and function following a total hip replacement. The compression produced by the “X” design has also been beneficial in helping improve function and reduce pelvic pain for post-partum moms.
- What is the difference between the PRO 3.0, PRO 2.0 and PRO 1.0 versions?

- Can wearing CORESHORTS™ cause the core muscles to become weak?
NO.You have to push against the “X” to create tension – the short does not move you – you need to move the short. CORESHORTS™ provide dynamic tension to support the motion that you still need to produce. Your core muscles still need to push against the“X”.

- Are there different versions of CORESHORTS™ for men and women?
Not at this time.Coretection is currently working on remolding the design, fit and function for women. Currently the design is considered to be blended for fit with a butterfly gusset to minimize stitch irritation and any pinching or bunching in the groin area.
- How do I determine the right fit?
In order to provide accurate function, CORESHORTS™ must fit snug with no pinching or movement restrictions, the fabric will buckle in the front groin area when lifting the hip but as the front loosens for motion, the back side will tighten and vice versa.
Please follow the sizing chart as it is designed to take into account the increased compression. If the fit is in between sizes it is recommended to take the larger size.

After use they can be washed using warm or cold water, a non-bleach detergent and on medium agitation. They can be hang dried as the quick dry wicking material allows for overnight drying. Ensure there is no Velcro products in the washer.

Over time expect your CORESHORTS™ to show some wear. They have a 30 days guarantee to have no manufacturing defects and if not 100% satisfied in those 30 days we will refund you the cost based on your proof of purchase. Please see the guarantee question. Over time, if a small tear occurs many have just provided some sewing repair – many are still in action 10 years later.
